QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
~~~
  1. What does the word giclee (gee-clay) mean?
    It is a French word meaning "spray of ink" on canvas. These painting reproductions are produced on a special Iris Printing Press that prints directly onto the canvas.
  2. How long will the colors of a giclee last?
    The producers of the giclees say that the color-fastness is at least 75 years. It is advisable that you not hang a giclee or original painting in direct sunlight.
  3. Do I need to put glass over the giclee?
    No, you do not put glass on the giclee. When they are framed and hung the giclees look very much like an original painting.
  4. Where do I find stretcher bars to put the canvas giclee on?
    We can do that for you for $15. extra. Please mention that when you order the giclee. Picture framers in your area can also put the giclee on stretcher bar.
  5. How much will it cost to frame the giclee?
    Many of the giclees are "standard" sizes and you can purchase a ready-made frame. You may also have a custom frame made for the giclee for approximately $150-$300.
  6. If I order a giclee, how long will it take to arrive?
    Usually less than 2 weeks and no longer than 3 weeks.
  7. How much is the shipping cost?
    The shipping costs are included in the total price on unstretched giclees. Stretched giclees are slightly more . Framed artwork is heavier and the shipping cost is extra.
  8. If I am not happy with the giclee or book, may I return it?
    Yes, it is your cost to mail it back to us and your full refund will be given to you.
  9. If I order one of Ray Swanson's limited edition books, can I choose which original painting that I want?
    Yes, images may be sent to you by Email or postal mail.
